Day 15
LINKEDIN BUSINESS PAGES
Skip To The Key Takeaways & Action Items
When you run a small business, you want to make sure that your company has a presence anywhere a potential client might be looking. And while LinkedIn may not be the first social media place people think of when hiring a business, I think it is still an important one.
In my case, one of my potential lead generation sources is going to be networking and LinkedIn is a great place for that. I want to make sure than anyone who finds me on LinkedIn knows that I run a legitimate business, and it isn’t just a part time thing for fun (like it used to be when I had a full time job).
Over the years, LinkedIn has had some different business page ideas, but at this point I think they’ve established the best version so far. A few years ago when I tried to create one for my previous company, they had a lot of issues.
Today, creating a business page is easy and only takes a few clicks. You just need some basic info, a logo and a banner header, and Bam, you are set up. The key thing that this page does, is that it links back to my personal profile, and shows a LOGO instead of a gray generic box. It just makes you look legit when people find you on LinkedIn.

Creating your page is just the beginning. There are other things you can do once you have a page like posting as that page and advertising as that page. Your page is also connected to certain hashtags which they say will help spread your page around in relevant communities.
Here is my key takeaway:
Key Takeaway #1: A Business LinkedIn Page Is Necessary
As I wrote in the article, the business LinkedIn page is so simple and easy to create that there is no reason not to do it. It gives your business another place for people to find you online. You do need to make sure that your ACTUAL LinkedIn profile is updated as well. When I Google my business, my LinkedIn shows up on the first page.

At this point, I’m satisfied with just having that simple presence so people can see my logo and get some basic info. However, I will be experimenting with posts to see if they get any traction as the days go by, and I’ll report back with what I discover.
