Day 17
CLIENT VIDEO
Skip To The Key Takeaways & Action Items
A few weeks ago, my high school alma mater Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, Virginia saw a few of my DMV Adventures videos online and reached out to see if I could help them with their annual Day of Giving charity fundraiser.
I was excited about this opportunity because one of the services I offer is a low cost video for small business. Low cost, does not mean low quality. In fact, I would argue that using less equipment and less editing can make for a really effective video. Video experts HATE it. But guess what. Video experts aren’t the clients. But I’ll keep that on the DL and they can keep doin what they do.
The video was a lot of fun to film. The staff at PVI and the students were all great sports and make the video the fun that it was. We had a few audio snags, and I spent a lot of additional time editing to fix it (my fault), so it was definitely a great learning experience.
The main thing that came out of the entire Day of Giving process (not just the video) was that PVI raised over $70,000 for their charity. Great work PVI fam!
Here is my key takeaway from the experience:
Key Takeaway : Vlog Videos Can Be A Top Lead Gen Activity
One of the lead generation activities that I have been doing for my business was creating Vlog videos about the area. These videos are fun, they are great practice for filming and editing in a new “action” style, they give my company additional SEO and they let everyone in my network know that I can help them with their video needs.
The Vlogs are still an ongoing experiment for both services and lead gen, but I can now tie them to an actual transaction.
Action Plan:
Continue producing Vlog videos several times a week
Continue to develop creative ideas when filming vlogs
The PVI video was a great experience and I hope it helped at least a little bit towards their $70,000 fundraiser. The experience showed me the validity of my vlog videos and I will be able to learn from the filming and editing process and continue to improve my work.
