Haunted Trip To Harper's Ferry West Virginia

Haunted Harper's Ferry

Shot With A Panasonic HC-X1

After a night at Charleston Races & Slots (I actually was up a bit) where the weather was perfect, I figured I'd head out to nearby Harper's Ferry National Park to check out the town on a beautiful day. But when I got there...the fog rolled in, the clouds covered the sky, the wind picked up and the place was a ghost town...literally. I decided to document my trip, in case I was overtaken by a poltergeist, which you can watch in the video above.

Harper's Ferry (a National Park...parking costs $) is just over an hour drive from the DC Metro Area and typically offers a fun day of history and outdoor adventure. On this day however...things were different.

The church looked extra creepy on this day. The original church was built in 1833. Today known as St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, they still hold mass on Sundays.

I actually was lucky and a freight train came through the tunnel and through the town while I was there. The train seemed never ending and it added another creepy touch to my trip. The tunnel coming out of the side of a giant mountain is one of the things I remember from 25+ years ago when I visited as a child.

After spending some time down in the town, I headed up the hill to where there used to be 2, what I assume were awesome, hotel lodges. Now they are abandoned and falling apart...and by the way...SUPER SCARY!

While I was filming and the wind was raging I heard a loud noise behind me and I FREAKED OUT. I screamed, jumped in the air and then proceeded to RUN to my car and get out of dodge. I still had so many things to film, but I didn't care...I was out...
